I tend to forget about you....

OK well I'm over the moon I got into the discipline I wanted, which is ceramics!!

Week one:

We received a brief last week which was based on problem based learning. This was the beginning on how to develop research and to develop ideas further. Our problem resolved around pot, vessel, object.
The problem was: To explore  the breath of ceramics in 2012 as suggested by the term pot, vessel, object.
To explore this we were placed into groups of 4/5 and started brain storming as it is the most essential part of problem based learning. As a group Sam, Fiona, Muireann, Jack and myself had to solved the problem, firstly the problem was that there is not enough distinction between the solo sub headings in the field of ceramics. Meaning although there are differences between the words pot, vessel, and object. They are not fully understood!

We began to investigate this by brainstorming, we branched it off to the various sub headings in ceramics such as glazes, kilns, contemporary artists in fine art and design. Each of us undertook a separate area to research. This was meant to be team work and had to give a presentation on our findings on Friday... HOWEVER, team work was NOT carried out, 3 of our members including out chairperson decided not to arrive in, leaving me and our other member Fiona to pick up the pieces and pull the presentation off!!... not impressed atal...
Anyways fair play to me and Fiona we done pretty well and put alot into the project and organising anything that had to be done.

Week two: This week is the "Narrative Project",  after following the steps from last week, the first thing I done for this project was brainstorm the word "Narrative"...My mind map is very broad, so I'm finding it difficult to limit myself to the area I specifically would like to experiment in. So I'm taking 3 aspects of my mind map which are:
Poems , Stories, and a photograph, to make it easier I began to research into them all. My poems I have been looking are Daffodils by William Wordsworth and Travelling down memory lane by Ralph Acosta. For me, the poem Daffodils relates back to memories as a child and the daffodils act as stage through life too. Growth to widering, to death. The story I have been looking into is one as a child my uncle told this scary one about a rag doll, which her name was the Jilly doll, just as I'm writing this, I just discovered why I'm afraid of clowns...... sorry just I never knew when people asked and NOW I remembered... YAAAAAAH!!I think it was because of the story and when he used to tell it to me and my sis, I practically had it all imagined in my head with ragged clothes, evil face and of course... RED HAIR! O.M.G!!!... I can't exactly explain the story it is quiet long... so ya that's pretty much it, and the photograph? well that's another long story of my lovely childhood as a bold brat, regarding a clothes line and leaving someone holding on and taking the chair and running away and my excuse to that person the next day was " I could hear my mam calling me"...TOTES  haha. I'm not a lil angel atal tal you guys, ye don't even know me yet :) hehe...

Thats it for this week really just busy with the researching and have been looking at these artists:
