And today!

Naked Raku: This is a really complicated process, however, the process to get to the end product is just outstanding. I think it really the naked Raku is so interesting not only by the work itself but the whole process the clay goes through.

These are the two types of Raku that Elaine explained to us about. Firstly we picked the ceramic pieces we were using to do the Raku. First she had a bucket which is the "resistance" It is made up of 3 jugs of Kaolin and 2 jugs of Flint or Quartz, water was then added to make it into to a creamy substance.


 This is the resistance, you dip the areas of the pot that you are going to keep white.


 This is the Transparent resistance, this is applied when the first layer which is the resistance is put on. Then re dip the same areas again.




Each of these all have the dipped areas I coated with the resistance!




These then have the second coating which is the transparent glazing
