Heeeeey !Sorry for the late posting .....finally, I couldn't wait to start my ceramics elective., it has been really interesting and exciting so far. There is so much to take in and so many ceramic artists to hear about.
We were given our brief last Friday so that we could make a start on the research and be all ready for Monday. The brief gave the option of either the urban environment or the natural environment.
Since were like mini farmers at home with a large back yard, there was plenty of fun things to take photographs of. On Monday, from the photographs I had take, I started working in black and white. This was so we could produce multiple types of mark making. I must add images from the mark making tomorrow. I used bamboo sticks, a dipping pen, a sponge, cardboard, different size paint brushes, tip- ex and chal to produce different marks.
From the mark making, we then used view finders to zoom up on some if the markings. When we zoomed up we used paper to create the sections we zoomed up on.
These first two images are examples of some of the research I had done.
These are examples of the mark making images that i had transfered into paper cut outs
